 Website design requires a balance between aesthetics and usability. Unfortunately, many websites are being developed today with too much focus on aesthetics, relying too heavily, for example, on Flash technology as their main platform. Flash allows for beautiful websites with enhanced interactivity, and many companies love the look and dazzle of such websites. However, they commonly overlook that the usability of their site suffers. Our philosophy is that Flash is great when used in moderation. A Flash website cannot be indexed by the search engines and, therefore, leaves many sites lost in cyberspace. How many of them are built totally with Flash? Not many. Popular sites like Yahoo! and ESPN use Flash elements minimally, such as for banner advertisements and promotions. Furthermore, they do not alienate Internet surfers with slow connections, thereby expanding their reach to a greater market share.
